
We looked at the best cash-back credit cards for use at the pump a few days ago. Now it's time to check out the best cards for the rest of our purchases: wireless accounts, drugstores, restaurants, office supplies, groceries, and more. With prices on just about everything rising at a steady pace, we all need as many discounts as we can get!
As recently reported over at BusinessWeek, credit card companies have long-standing relationships with most of the major colleges and universities in the U.S. What better place to prey on naive young people then where they traditionally congregate? (Of course, that's not to say that they are age-biased in any way—older people are oftentimes just as naive when it comes to financial knowledge.)
It used to be that there used to be no problem finding a cash- or reward-card that gave you the equivalent of 5% back on every dollar. Well, through the gradual elimination or reduction of these rewards programs it is getting hard to find the right card to buy gas with. And with prices high and getting higher, it is all the more important to find savings wherever you can.

It's worth it for anyone who has a credit card to take a quick read over this list, as at least some of the points affect almost every credit card currently out in circulation. As many of you that have the American Express SimplyCash card already know, they have recently downgraded the rewards program. You no longer recieve 5% cash back on all gasoline purchases. Instead, you will receive only 3%. Wireless charges and office supply purchases are not affected.
Yes, yet another long hiatus. This page has been put on hold over the past few months because of work and traveling. I am happy to say that I am now back at home and will concentrate on getting this page up-to-date. Expect to see a lot of new information and some great card deals coming soon!
