Last week American Express announced a new bonus for holders of its consumer credit cards--double normal membership rewards points on gas and grocery purchases for the next year or so. The program began March 22 and runs through March 15, 2010. These points can be earned on up to $1000 of gas and grocery purchases per month.
These bonus points are not automatic. You must contact American Express at http://www.americanexpress.com/counttwice or call (800)794-1308 to be enrolled in the program (use enrollment code 139150001).
