  1. If any rates are hiked on your credit card you can do your part to fight back by simply freezing your account. You will always be notified by mail at least fourteen days in advance should a rate be scheduled to increase. Call up your card company to put a temporary freeze on the account. You cannot use your card during that time, but your credit score will not be impacted by a credit card account closure, and you can unfreeze the account once the economy is back on track and rates have gone down.
