  1. The laws that require credit card issuers to state a minimum payment amount on every monthly statement may be doing more harm than good to many consumers. Studies have shown that if a minimum payment amount is listed that many consumers opt to pay only the minimum amount whereas if no minimum payment amount is listed they tended to pay more on the balance.
