An article over at Consumerist.com states that of the new credit card industry changes and regulations proposed and voted on in December, three have just been axed:
1) Overlimit fees due to account holds.
2) Deceptive advertising using multiple APRs or credit limits.
3) Problems with automatic overdraft programs on checking accounts.
Not really sure why they are deciding to NOT ban deceptive advertising, but I'm sure there's some very good reason there somewhere. The remaining five rules will not be enforced until July 2010.
